The New Year is just around the corner, and that calls for a new set of resolutions. It doesn't matter if you still haven't gotten around to implementing the ones you made last year. We'll make a list anyway. Right, ladies?

While you often begin every New Year with revamped diet plans and intricate wellness strategies--how about concentrating on your dating life for a change?

So what if you went out on a date with a guy you met on Tinder, and that turned to be a disaster. Or dated that asshole at work?

Don't let it define dating for you. All you need to do in 2017 is tread a little carefully. And we'll help you do that. If you want to meet your Mr. Perfect pretty soon, then here are a few resolutions you should be making.

Stop Playing the Hard To Get Game
If you like him, call him. Don't wait for the guy to make the first move. Trust us, you will not be judged. In fact, you will earn brownie points for being upfront. While most Indian girls are willing to bear the torture of waiting just to feel appreciated--it's better to quit playing games and ask him out. And that brings us to the second resolution.

Don't Fear Rejection
Apart from shyness, the fear of rejection has a lot to do with girls not approaching the guy they like. You think you will be humiliated if he friend zones you or brushes you off, but it doesn't need to be this way. Remember this: don't let your dating life define your self esteem. You don't need validation from some guy to make you realize your worth. If he doesn't want you--just move on. Don't spend eternity pining for him.

Don't Worry About First Impressions
You put on your best dress, spray your favourite perfume, talk smart, and drop interesting trivia mid conversation. However, what you don't do is just be yourself--fearing if you laugh too loudly or talk too much, it will hamper your first impression. Ladies, you don't have to live to impress him. Have fun and leave the rest to destiny.

Don't Carry the Ghosts of Your Past
So what if your previous relationship did not work out. This doesn't mean you are incapable of maintaining one. If you wish to enter the dating game with vigour, then you better not let your past haunt you. Imagine this: you are on a date with an interesting guy, but your mind is preoccupied with thoughts of your ex. You try not to make the same mistakes you made in the past. What you don't realize here is that while you are too busy carrying the baggage, you are probably missing out on something new, and a beautiful prospective.
