Model-turned-actress Malaika Arora Khan is appealing for the boycott of animal
circuses in a new ad for Peoples for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) with
the tag line 'Wild Birds Don't Belong in the Circus.
"Robbing birds of
flight, forcing them to live in tiny, filthy cages and tormenting them into
performing silly tricks are acts of cruelty to animals. I ask all my fans to
boycott circuses which use animals," the actress was quoted as saying in a PETA
release.

physical abuse and psychological torment. "When I pose in chains, it's news.
When circus animals live their lives in chains, it's business as usual. Only a
sadist could desire pleasure in watching an animal perform unnatural acts all in
the name of entertainment," says Sherlyn Chopra.
