Oh, how comforting it is to have a guy best friend to hold your hand and guide you through the world of complicated technology, gadgets, life situations, and most importantly--of men.

With your male BFF by your side, life seems easy as pie--until fate decides to intervene and burst your blissful bubble with the most feared 'C' word-complication.

No, we aren't talking about the my-best-friend-has-fallen-in-love-with-me-kind-of complication here. This, in fact, is about the even more consequential problem--my boyfriend has issues with my best friend.

If you find yourself oscillating between the two (because obviously you love them both), it only makes sense to figure out the reasons that might be causing this problem in the first place.

Introspect Before Pointing a Finger
You know the pain of having chipped your nail just before that party? Now, multiply this with 10,000-that's the pain your man feels every time you make him feel secondary in your life or compare him with your oh-so-perfect best friend. Actually, there is no quantifying the pain of a shattered male ego.
Come on girls, it is your duty to make your partner feel confident and secure about his place in your life-not just with words, but with your actions too.

If It's Not You, Maybe It's Him
A little jealousy is healthy (and kind of cute too), but too much of it can make your relationship feel like a burden. Dig deeper--it could be his territorial and controlling nature, or maybe, bitter past experiences that are making him act this way. If you've honestly done your part of reassuring him but your recurring fights become more and more toxic and suffocating, then, maybe it's time to call it quits. Your happiness comes first, remember.

Maybe It's Your Best Friend

I mean come on, give your partner a little benefit of doubt. Maybe it's your best friend who's not responding to the efforts your boyfriend is putting in. Observe the way your best friend behaves with your man, especially when you're not in sight (yes ladies, you may have to skulk in the corridor for a while to get to the bottom of this). If you think something isn't right, talk to your BFFabout it. If he really cares about you, he'll happily accept the man you love, unless of course, he senses something fishy about him.

Or Maybe It's Your Man's Friends
"Bhai, teri bandi toh woh le jayega". Chances are that your partner has shared about your relationship with your best friend to his bros. Maybe they're teasing him about it or adding to his paranoia. His friends' constant endeavour to link you to your bestie--in jest or otherwise--can lead to him think that maybe you're more than just friends.

Blame the Movies
Remember Pyaar Ka Punchnama, and many other such movies where a woman's proximity to her male friend just can't be digested by the world? After all, according to Bollywood "Ek ladka aur ek ladki kabhi , dost nahin ho sakte". Our suggestion: stop watching these movies and make sure your man does to.

Mai, Mera Boyfriend Aur Woh
It is only logical to make your best friend and boyfriend meet so both of them can get comfortable with each other. But if your best friend is always third wheeling on your lunch, dinner and movie dates, it is bound to cause trouble in your paradise. Especially when you resort to texting him when he's not physically present. This is not only hurtful, but extremely disrespectful to your partner.

The bottom line is simple girls: don't do things you wouldn't want your significant other to be doing to you.
