Hairiest girl in the world finally begins shaving her face and the reason is beautiful

Supatra got the record in 2009. She is 17 now.

How much hair on the face is too much hair? For many of us, threading appointments are more than an appointment with a doctor. We shame ourselves and others for facial hair. And no, it's not restricted to women. If women are shamed for too much hair, men are shamed for having little or no facial hair. But what if you are the hairiest person in the world?

Meet 17-year-old Supatra 'Natty' Sasuphan from Bangkok, Thailand who is the 'hairiest' person in the world, according to the Guinness Book of world records. She suffers from the rare genetic condition Ambras Syndrome which is more commonly known as 'Werewolf Syndrome'.

She has had to face a lot.

Imagine the amount of shaming Natty has had to face. Well, you can't, not really. And so Supatra called names at school including Wolf Girl and Chewbacca.

But she is one amazing girl. This is what she said, after being awarded the title of the hairiest girl.Aged only 10-years-old, after winning the record she said:"I don't feel any different to anyone else, and I've got lots of friends at school... Being hairy makes me special.There were a few people who used to tease me and call me monkey face but they don't do it any more.I'm very used to this condition. I can't feel the hair as it has always been like this. I don't feel anything.It does sometimes make it difficult to see when it gets long. I hope I will be cured one day."And she was just 10 when she said this.Can you believe being this mature about life when 10? I wasn't for sure.It isn't easy, if you are different.

Harnaam Kaur, was included in the Guinness World Records as the youngest woman in the world to have a full beard.

Her record citation read: 'Now with a beard measuring as long as six inches in places, she overcame years of bullying to take ownership of her appearance and achieve this record title at the age of 24 years 282 days.'

Harnaam chose to not shave her beard and chest hair. She has PCOD, which sometimes leads to excess growth of body hair. Natty however has now decided to shave it off regularly.Love works in ways that make you become a diehard romantic. A decade on from achieving the record, Supatra has now decided to start regularly shaving her face and body for the first time after getting married. But it's her choice.

She's found happiness with her husband and has captioned a recent post about him: 'You're not just my first lover; you're the love of my life

We wish her happiness in her future.

Fairytales, modern ones, do exist after all.
