From cricket grounds to the Line of Control (LOC), tensions between India and Pakistan are always there. However, amidst all the chaos and strain, it's the love between the people that keeps the hope of peace alive in all of us.

We guess, no one understands this one true fact better than our country's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. The politician recently helped a Lucknow-based man Naqi Ali Khan to get married to the love of his life, 24-year-old Sabahat Fatima from Pakistan.

Separated post partition, both of their families knew each other but were unable to enter into a matrimonial alliance--until the groom, an engineer by profession and a resident of Agha Mir Deodhi locality in Old Lucknow, reached out to the minister last year.

Swaraj then helped out the couple, who was unable to tie the knot due to visa issues that hindered Sabahat's travel to India.

The love birds finally had a nikah on Friday which was solemnized by vice-president of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Maulana Kalbe Sadiq.

They thanked Swaraj and hoped that the government would help them in getting Sabahat an Indian citizenship as well. "We are extremely grateful to Sushma Swaraj for this gift," the groom said.

This isn't the first time the minister has united two cross-border lovers. Last year in August, she helped Karachi-resident Sadie, 25 get a visa and get married to Syed Shariq Hashmi (28) of Lucknow.
