It's difficult AF--trying to survive a break-up. After all, there are memories that are going to haunt you for a long time. Yup, it's tricky. But, do you know what's even more complicated? Trying to get over someone who you have really never dated. This really sucks!

You've never had any sort of relationship with him, but you do have three imaginary kids with him. And though you have never gone out on a real date, you've often fantasized about going on vacations to picturesque locations with your secret crush. So, it really does hurt when you have to let go of that fantasy and step into the real world. However, ladies, there are ways to make the pain go away and move on with your life. Here's what you should do:

Let Yourself Feel The Emotions

In order to heal, you need to realize what you are feeling and why you are feeling a certain way. So, if you are heartbroken about the fact that your crush has started seeing someone new--then you need to accept your feelings. Running away from your emotions will do you no good.

Don't Cut Them Off On Social Media

You might feel that blocking the guy, you secretly love, on Facebook will help you forget him for good, but that's not how it works. Inquisitiveness and suspense are your arch nemesis here. The urge to check out what's going on in his life and your incapability to do it will make matters worse. So, begin by not randomly stalking his profile and WhatsApp profile pictures instead of cutting him off on social media.

Be Open To The Idea of Meeting New People

You've got to let in people in your life. And you've to be open to the idea of meeting new people. Of course, you don't have to start dating random people to get over your crush, but there's no harm in exploring the possibilities. You never know, you might end up meeting someone interesting. Socializing will make it possible for you to focus your mind somewhere else.

Train Yourself To Stop Thinking About Him

And only you can do this. You have to stop obsessing about him. Invest your time in doing something interesting. Pursue your hobbies, do activities that you really enjoy, and spend your day doing something productive. The key is to keep your mind busy and train your brain not to constantly think about him. It's easier said than done, but this is the only way out.

Go Out And Have Fun

Cut yourself some slack and go have fun. Don't lock yourself in a room with just Netflix to give you company. You will end up feeling all the more dreadful. Instead, make plans with your friends. Or go to a movie with your family. Surround yourself with people and interesting company to divert your mind. This might feel forced at first, but you will eventually begin to relax and enjoy things without faking your emotions.
