Throwback Thursday: Sushma Swaraj shares her wedding picture

The External Affairs minister took to Twitter to share the picture.

One of the most proactive minister on the social media platform, Twitter, Sushma Swaraj gave us a surprise peek into her personal life. Celebrating her wedding anniversary on July 13 with husband, Swaraj Kaushal, governor of Mizoram, the firebrand minister shared her wedding day picture. Swaraj looked like a young coy bride who's gazing lovingly at her husband. Sharing the post, Swaraj thanked everyone for the good wishes. "Thanks for your greetings and good wishes on our wedding anniversary" (sic.), wrote the minister along with the picture.

She has made Twitter not just a mass medium to reach out to her over 5 million followers, but also use it as a tool to rescue people. A case in point being the Russian bahu fiasco, where none other than Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav got involved to resolve the matter. The Russian national is married to an Indian and was having trouble with her in-laws.

The current crisis faced by Indian nationals in Juba (South Sudan) is also closely being monitored by her on Twitter. The minister is reaching out to the worried nationals by putting them in direct touch with the Indian embassy. She even responded to a plea by actor Akshay Kumar to help out Indians in Juba. Now, that's a tech-savvy minister.
