"Don't laugh so loudly, ladies don't do that!"

"Cross your legs when you sit, it's very un-ladylike."

"Look down when a man stares at you."

"Don't look him in the eye…."

The list of diktats imposed on women goes on and go. Women around the world are expected to behave a certain way in order to adhere to traits that are labeled feminine. Anything that doesn't fit the bill is labeled unfit for the 'fairer sex.' So, basically there's hardly any woman on the face of the Earth, who hasn't been shamed. Be it body shaming, slut shaming, period shaming, mother shaming, or diet shaming-we've had it all. 'Shame' is one word that is regularly associated with women all the time.

So, to stop normalizing this shame, a woman called Suzie Blake has started an interesting project on Instagram called 'Wall of Shamed.' With the help of this unique initiative, she is urging women to share their experiences.

In fact, women can share their experiences physically by hanging stuff on a wall, which is put on display in Melbourne, Australia, at the Victorian College of the Arts Masters Graduate Exhibition.

According to a report published in Storypick, Suzie started this project owing to her own experiences with the issue at hand. She wanted to give women an opportunity to voice their angst because she believes that 'a problem shared is a problem halved'. She hung a portrait of herself on the wall as a pregnant teenager because a pregnant teen is judged in all ways you can't think of.

"I started the project because of my personal experiences of having been shamed. I'd been told I needed to go to Jenny Craig as a child and was teased as a teenager because my breasts developed early," she says in an interview to an Australian website nowtolove.com.au.

"These comments shaped who I am as a person, and I'm sure they had a lot to do with the eating disorders I experienced throughout my teens and early twenties," she continues.

A lot of women identified with the project and wrote on the wall some really heartbreaking stories. Here are a few:

You know what: it is high time people stop judging women so harshly all the time. Just give them the time and space to breathe, please!
