A lot of people love the anonymity that comes along with sitting behind a computer screen and using fake usernames. This gives them the liberty to write whatever bullshit they want on various social media platforms. And that's not it, some digital ninjas even seek pleasure in threatening people online. So there are rape threats, murder threats, and acid attack threats. The latest to fall victim to such vile bulling is a British model called Talulah Eve-Brown. She has been threatened with an acid attack by trolls. And if this doesn't unsettle you, there's more. The reason why Talulah is being trolled is because she is a transgender! Yup, that is enough for people to hate her.

So, Who Is Talulah Eve-Brown?

If you have watched Britain's Next Top Model, you would probably have recognized her as one of the contestants. The 22-year-old model was born male and called Aaron, however, she grew up feeling lonely and confused. In 2006, she came across an article on Nadia Almada--one of the winners of Big Brother, who was also a transgender. This made Aaron decide to face her fears and go through the transition of becoming a woman. Interestingly, she also holds the title of Miss Transgender Birmingham. Apart from modeling, she also writes for the Huffington Post and is also a campaigner for transgender rights.

The Threats That Shocked Talulah

Talulah's new-found popularity has also attracted a lot of uninvited attention. For some reason, a few people just can't seem to digest that she is transgender model, making a name for herself in the fashion industry. This hate gave way to threats--including an acid attack.

Let's find out what really happened.

The model is quite active on social media, however, recently she has been receiving quite a lot of hateful comments. "I'm never really one to go on and on about the trolling I receive but when people threaten me with an 'acid attack' it's just hard to fathom what goes on in people's minds in order to say sickening things like that," she wrote on Twitter.

She also attached a screenshot of all the kinds of comments that come her way. A Facebook user named Robert Busby openly threatened her with acid attack. Why? Well, simply because he is a homophobic.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Talulah has received hate for being a transgender.

A source close to Talulah revealed a few things about her, in an interview to The Sun. "People can be so hateful and it can get quite ugly. She's used to being yelled at in the streets even before she became famous. The acid threat has definitely knocked her for six. We've all seen how it's become something of a trend."

Thankfully, Talulah Is Getting Support From Sane-Minded People

The threat against Talulah has not just shocked her, but others on social media too. Quite a few jumped in her defense and schooled the haters.

"'Are you serious? Acid attack? You need to grow up. Haven't you got kids? Real role model you are," wrote one commentator.

"'Is that a threat, because you could really be considered a huge threat.... if so, Talulah-Eve Brown could easily go to the police about you," commented other.

Though, people are now standing up to injustice, violence against transgenders is not just limited to this one incident. It happens all around the world and we often end up ignoring it because it doesn't concern us. So, be it Talulah who was issued an acid attack threat in UK, or Manabi Bandyopadhyay, India's first transgender principal who had to resign from her job due to discrimination, or a transgender woman who was shot at multiple times and then denied treatment in a hospital in Pakistan in 2012--the hatred just refuses to die. And it's time we collectively stand up in support of the transgender community and help them in protecting their rights.
