A love letter to Prabhas from a die-hard fan on his birthday

Prabhas is so much more than his character in Baahubali.

Dear Baahu,

Yeah! That is what I like to call you. I made the nickname up after watching Baahubali for the seventh time. However, your real name is Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju Uppalapati! Isn't it?

Anyway--with the important things first. Wish you a very, very happy birthday! As you turn 38 today, I can't help but thank God for your existence. So, what you are an actor with millions of fans like me, and I have never had the chance to meet you? This tiny detail cannot lessen my admiration (read: love) for you. So, let me begin my revealing a secret. I was really never a fan of Tollywood cinema--until I saw Baahubali. Oh my, my! You were just fantastic. In fact, it was the first time I really heard of you. As I said, I was never a fan of regional films. But, you changed that for me forever.

Not kidding, but out of over Rs 1,600 crore your film has minted, there's my contribution too. Baahubali--both part one and two--is the only film I have watched multiple times in the theatre. Why? Because the small screen of my laptop and television failed to do justice to your majestic personality. In part one, when you climbed the waterfall and jumped from one cliff to another, I hooted like a manic in the cinema hall. Also, in the second, when you took a stand for your on-screen wife, my eyes welled with tears. Bhagwaan aisa pati sabko de!

However, there's one thing I have realized. Baahubali is not the only thing that describes you. There's so much more the world needs to know about you. For instance, not many people know that you are a quite a private person. You have a close set of friends, who you have known since childhood. In fact, one of them actually manages most of your work. And while I am gushing over you, I realize you have your own favourites too. Aren't you a self-confessed fan of director Raj Kumar Hirani and have watched his films 3 Idiots and Munnabhai MBBS almost 20 times!

Welcome to the club.

Oh! I just remembered. You are an engineer too, right? Don't you have a B.E. degree from Sri Chaitanya College in Hyderabad? Well, engineering students across India would be proud of you. At least someone did something other than becoming a love-sick writer. *Wink* *Wink*, you know what I mean!

By the way, I am super proud of you. You are the first South Indian actor to have his own statue at Madame Tussauds, Bangkok. What can I say, you look stunning in wax too.

Look at those rippling muscles. That protein must really come from all the chicken you like to eat. Aha! Chicken and biryani--your favourite dishes in the world. I am sure it's your love for food that inspired you to become an hotelier. You know what, so did I once upon a time.

Though, I don't believe the rumor mills, but I did read you are engaged. And the girl is a 23-year-old  engineering student, who your parents found for you. Phew! Well, we won't get into that.

By the way, both of us share a similar passion--reading. Though, you have a personal library at home and I don't. And library is not the only star attraction in your house. The volleyball court you set up in your courtyard during your preparation for Baahubali, stands out too. Had read somewhere that you love playing volleyball in the court with your friends instead of hitting the gym. Not bad, that's good for your reflexes too.

Also, it's amazing that you are against caging birds. In fact, your gesture to keep a garden where birds can fly freely is indeed praiseworthy. See, I knew you were an amazing man. Though, I can't wait to see you on the silver screen soon. And yes, it made my day when I saw the first look of your movie Saaho. Dressed in all black--even though your face is half covered--you look intriguing. Seriously, can't wait for the film to get released.

Though, I can go on and on about how amazing you are--I regret to end my letter to you here. But, once again--wish you a very happy birthday. May you keep shinning always.

Your's forever,

A die-hard fan!
