Here's why we aren't so pleased with the success of Vietnam's first female billionaire
Behind this successful lady is blatant objectification of fellow women.

The world is going gaga over the mega-success of Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, a Vietnamese entrepreneur who is set to become one of the world's richest people. While we would have loved to join her set of admirers, we are just not able to because of the so-called brilliant idea that lead her to this success.
The 45-year-old woman replaced VietJet Air's flight attendants with air hostesses wearing bikinis. In fact, the motto of Vietnam's only privately-owned airline was conveniently changed to "Enjoy Flying!"

The lady, who owns 95% of the airline just didn't stop at that. As a marketing gimmick to boost the profits, she went ahead and published eye-popping calendars featuring the sexy stewardesses.
Thao had a rather peculiar explanation to defend her actions and that made us even bitter than before. "You have the right to wear anything you like, either the bikini or the traditional ao dai (traditional Vietnamese loose tunics worn over pants). We don't mind people associating the airline with the bikini image. If that makes people happy, then we are happy".

Happy? Maybe, she was just referring to her ever-increasing bank balance there. Because this news has certainly not gone down too well with us and with most women around. And considering that she made her first million at the tender age of 21 by trading fax machines and latex rubber, she could have easily come up with a more dignified way of raking in money.
Whatever happened to wisdom and conscience in life? Here we are fighting our asses off against the blatant objectification of women and here a woman herself is simply spilling water on all the hard work and efforts made by fellow women around the world. What message does that convey? Objectify women to make money? Utterly disgusting, we say!
Weren't the sexist commercial songs, videos, and unfortunately even movies, not just in India but all over the world, spreading enough of that bulls**t already?

Moreover, what makes it even worse is that fact that it's coming from a woman. We expect them to understand the pain of being objectified. How then could such insensitivity and irresponsible attitude come from her?
We just hope that better sense prevails and not only does this sh**ty airline shut shop, but also, people don't encourage such ventures, whatsoever.
