Delhi is choked by smog. You must have all bought your masks by now--if you haven't, do it ASAP! But well, smog is still damaging to your health. Many of you, and the people in your family and workplace may already be falling sick because of the smog.

People with low immunity are particularly prone to falling ill in this dangerous weather. So we decided to look for and found three things that you can easily find in your kitchen, to help boost your immunity.

Here you go:

1. The good ol' Haldi

Haldi is an ingredient found in every Indian kitchen and haldi wala doodh is the solution for scrape in your knee or arms. So, for the smog too, you can have that and also add haldi liberally to your food preparations. Haldi has anti-bacterial properties and will keep you better during the smog covered days of Delhi.

The smog isn't great for your skin either. A pack made of haldi as an ingredient can also help to keep it fighting the pollution better. Don't forget to add honey and malai to avoid looking like a yellow flower though.

Yes, we have all danced to this song as kids. And it's not just ishq that's meetha with gud or jaggery. You will be glad to know that also helps you combat the ill effects of pollution to your body.

"Jaggery is a rich source of instant energy, as it is loaded with iron. Iron-rich food improves the hemoglobin level in blood, which in turn increases the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood.  This helps get rid of the acute effects of pollution," says Dr (Prof) M. Wali, former physician to the President of India.

So add it your cup of chai instead of sugar or have it aise hi. But people with diabetes need to stay clear of gud, or it will aggravate it.

3. Mustard Oil

Its not just sarson ka saag with makke ki roti which is beneficial for your belly. Turns out that mustard oil is very good for your belly as well. Rubbing of mustard oil is usually advised for curing discolouration of lips,it has other benefits too.

It is good for your skin too. You can rub a few drops on your arms and legs to help keep it safe from all the dust and pollutants.

Rubbing warm mustard oil inside your navel--in circular motions--helps the stimulation of gastric juices and bile juices from the liver and spleen. This helps you to digest food easily and faster and keeps your pet khush and healthy.

So try these was a few means to combat the effects of the deadly smog.
