Beauty should never become a reason for bullying someone
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder is a line many of us are familiar with. But constant ads which tell you what beauty should look like have made most of us biased about what or who is beautiful. The worst part about is that we become under confident about ourselves.
And that's not all--we also end being bullies to people who do not match these ideas of 'beautiful.' These people are bullied because they look 'different'. A photographer named Francesc Planes, a 22-year-old photographer from Spain, took it upon himself to encourage change.
He photographed a series called 'Normal, in which the artist documents bodies that usually do not fit into the frames of 'standard beauty'. Francesc captures people in their most vulnerable state, that of being naked.
1. Guille was bullied for having alopecia. Alopecia a disease in which a person starts losing one's hair because the immune system mistakes hair follicles to be the body's enemies. In most cases, one loses clumps of hair, leading to lesser hair. In rare cases like Guille's, complete loss of scalp hair and body hair occurs.
