    Aamir has done this throughout in his career...and in his life. When he played the dark role as the avenger of his raped ex-girlfriend in Raakh,  soon after the release of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, it was this experimental streak that guided him. And now when he is sporting an old and haggard look with unkempt grizzly bearded for Dangal, he doesn't seem to mind either.
