  • Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif's pairing in Dhoom 3 was not a usual one. For the actress towered over Aamir, in her heels. At the various promotional events that the two were spotted, Katrina-Aamir struck a noticeable pose - what with the differences between their heights!

  • In Bewakoofiyan, Ayushmann Khurrana was seen in a role opposite to Sonam Kapoor. During promotions, when the actress had her feet in heels, Ayushmann appeared somewhat shorter than Sonam.

  • Huma Qureshi, in Gangs of Wasseypur II, towered way over her actor - Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The difference in the heights of the two lead actors in the film was vivid and went well with the tone of the movie.

  • Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, too, cut an interesting figure during the promotions of Ram-Leela. Deepika's footwear left her looking taller than Ranveer in photographs.

While the paparazzi competed among themselves to click the actors, Jackie and Salman's footwears must have been in the midst of a different, tall-ness competition!

  • Anushka Sharma's debut in Bollywood, the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, was opposite to the somewhat shorter Shahrukh Khan. Later, when the two were paired for Jab Tak Hai Jaan, one could spot the actors posing for the lenses sans any height-y inhibitions.

  • Among the new generation of actors, Varun Dhawan is probably the only one who has been paired with a taller actress in recent times. In Main Tera Hero, the actor was seen with Nargis Fakhri - who, in or out of heels, is a few inches taller than Dhawan.

However, in recent times, with many tall actresses entering the industry, the average Hindi film hero is suddenly unable to match up to his actress in terms of height. We bring to you some of the taller heroine-shorter hero pairings of the recent past.  
    Once in heels, matching up to Deepika Padukone in height is a tough task for most Bollywood actors. Save a few co-stars, who are on the other side of 6', Deepika has mostly been seen opposite to actors who are shorter than her - with or without heels! During the promotions of Chennai Express last year, and Om Shanti Om earlier, Padukone was seen towering several inches over Khan.
