Be the hottest girl at any party

  • Matchy-matchy colour
Navy is the new black in nail-polish land. And as Lea proves, it goes perfectly with blue-lined eyes and an indigo frock.

How-to: Apply polish, and rim eyes with a soft pencil, like Chanel Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer in Blue Jean, Rs 1,300.

Try O.P.I Nail Colour in My Private Jet, Rs 530.

  • High-wattage highlights
Technicolour stripes kick your hair colour way up...and purple works on blondes and brunettes, says Amy Huson, a colourist at NYC's Marie Robinson Salon.

How-to: Follow the directions in a DIY kit, to tint one-inch sections all over. Use a colour-safe shampoo, like Sunsilk Keratinology Sun Kissed Colour Therapy Shampoo, Rs 200, to prevent fading.

  • A pinked-out pout
Fuchsia lips are a party staple, but its more fearless cousin-neon pink-really stands out in a crowd, says Nadine.

How-to: Swipe on bright pink lipstick, then press a fluorescent pink powder onto lips. It'll stick to the creaminess and amplify the colour in a big way.

    Try
M.A.C Pigment in Magenta Madness, Rs 990.
YSL Rouge Pur Couture Golden Lustre Lipstick in No. 110, Rs 1,850.

  • Bold 'n' bright eyes
Wear contrasting vibrant shades on your top and bottom lids as a nod to the hot colour-block fashion trend, says make-up artist Amy Nadine.

How-to: Saturate upper lids with pink cream shadow, and thickly drag cobalt liner (such as the Oriflame veryme Double Trouble eyeliner) across lower rims. Don't forget mascara (we love Mary Kay's Ultimate Mascara).

    Try
Oriflame veryme Double Trouble Eye Pencil in Blue Lagoon, Rs 249.
Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara, Rs 525.
Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Magnolia, Rs 1,250.

  • How-to: Tease roots two inches behind your forehead's center (the clip will better grip the texture), then secure bangs in place. (We love Hershesons Sharp Clip in Fringe at ASOS). If fake hair looks too shiny, dull it with a bit of dry shampoo.

Try Hershesons Sharp Clip in Fringe at ASOS, Rs 2,300 approx.

  • The opposite of safe and cute, these attention-hogging, must-try looks are edgy and sexy...and keep the spotlight on you all night long.

    Bun Gone Badass
Skip the sweet-ballerina vibe by weaving texture into an updo. "It cranks up its cool factor," says Roz Murray of NYC's Bumble and Bumble.

    How-to:
Spritz a sea salt spray for volume and texture (we love label.m Sea Salt Spray), blow-dry, and then twirl and tease sections of your hair to create a messy effect. Back comb the hair in the front to give it height. Next, use a hair stick and roll your hair into an elongated bun, and pin in place. Finish with a holding spray to keep the look intact all night.

Try label.m Sea Salt Spray, Rs 730.
