She enrolled in Mithibai College in Mumbai, where she studied for two years before joining a three-month summer course in microcomputers at Harvard University. Catering to her interest in law, she attended Government Law College in Mumbai, but dropped out to pursue acting.

Deepika Padukone was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her family moved back to India when she was a year old. She attend Sophia High School in Bangalore, and finished her pre-university education at Mount Carmel College. Deepika enrolled at the Indira Gandhi National Open University for a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology, but later quit it due to scheduling conflicts with her career.
