A lot has been said about the ill-effects of coffee and its acidic nature. Coffee lovers are often worried about the cons that come with drinking a cup of joe. Having a cup or two of your Americano or Cappuccino might not be that bad after all.

Researchers at the Ulster University in the UK have found that the benefits of drinking moderate amounts of coffee far outweigh the so-called bad effects. Reviewing studies since 1970 till today, the researchers established that drinking 3-4 cups of coffee primarily has neutral effects on a person's health or can be mildly beneficial.

It is no hidden fact that coffee does have the effect of helping you get over your fatigue and kick-start your day. Coffee drinkers can also boast of the benefits of having greater concentration and focus, thanks to the presence of caffeine, which is a central nervous system stimulant.

The finding were published in Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety.
