    Obama has always encouraged his daughters be what whoever they want to be. In an article he once wrote for Glamour magazine, he pointed out the kind of double standards parents have when it comes to raising their children.

    "We need to keep changing the attitude that raises our girls to be demure and our boys to be assertive, that criticizes our daughters for speaking out and our sons for shedding a tear," he said.

    He never shies away from appreciating his wife Michelle Obama. He has often called her his best friend and has credited her for raising their daughters well.
    In an interview with Vogue magazine, Barack Obama said: "Michelle never asked to be First Lady. Like a lot of political spouses, the role was thrust upon her. But I always knew she’d be incredible at it, and put her own unique stamp on the job. That’s because who you see is who she is—the brilliant, funny, generous woman who, for whatever reason, agreed to marry me."
