Accident, self-defence, murder: 9 celebs who have killed someone

We give you a list of nine quite well-known celebrities, who have either been prosecuted for a killing or like Sid Vicious, for example, have ended up dead before the law could take its course.

  • Robert Blake
    Robert Blake, the Hollywood actor known for the film In Cold Blood, was arrested for the murder of his wife in 2002. The actor is now out of prison.

  • Laura Bush
    The wife of George W Bush, and the 43rd First Lady of the USA, Laura Bush is known to have run over and killed the seventeen-year-old Michael Dutton Douglas, her friend and classmate, in the year 1963.

  • Rebecca Gayheart
    The Urban Legend actress, Rebecca Gayheart, ran over a nine-year-old boy in Los Angeles, in the year 2001. Jorge Cruz, Jr, who was hit by Rebecca's car, died after a day. The actress was sentenced to three years of probation, her licence was suspended for a year, and she had to pay a fine and was to complete 750 hours of community service.

  • John Huston
    Director John Huston, who is best known for the film The Maltese Falcon, had been accused of running over and killing a female pedestrian in the year 1933, before his Hollywood career reached its peak.

  • Keith Moon
    Ex-drummer of the band The Who, this rock star is supposed to have accidentally run over his friend and bodyguard Neil Boland. Moon was allegedly drunk when the accident happened.

  • Phil Spector
    Music producer and songwriter Phil Spector, in the 2000s, was most known for two murder trials and a second degree conviction. Spector is currently in prison, serving his sentence for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson.

  • Sid Vicious
    The well-known bassist of the band Sex Pistols, Sid Vicious was accused of stabbing to death his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen, in 1978. Vicious had admitted to OD-ing on drugs when the stabbing took place, and couldn't remember much of the actual incidents, but the bassist died of heroin overdose before the trial for Nancy's murder could even have begun.

  • William S Burroughs
    The famous American novelist William S Burroughs, who has to his credit works like Naked Lunch and Queer, is supposed to have shot his second wife to death accidentally in 1951. Burroughs was convicted of manslaughter.

  • Be it an accidental run-over or a case of self-defence or cold-blooded murder, the seemingly-above-all-crimes group of celebrities, too, are not really alien to crimes. There have been instances all over the world where celebs have been accused of killing someone, and while some of them have served prison sentences, in several other cases, court proceedings are still on. We give you a list of nine quite well-known celebrities, who have either been prosecuted for a killing or like Sid Vicious, for example, have ended up dead before the law could take its course. In all, these people have been involved in a case where one death or more has taken place, and courts have prosecuted or acquitted them of charges.

    Don King
    Don King, who is famous for promoting and bringing to the limelight boxing legends like Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, has been involved in two cases of killing. In 1954, King is supposed to have shot Hillary Garret in the back while the latter was trying to rob one of King's gambling houses. The second case that King was accused of, is when he stomped Sam Garrett to death, in 1966, because Garrett owed him a sum of $600.
