Are you ready for some experimentation?

Only last year, a tiny study of 100 Indian women by sex-positive group, Agents of Ishq, revealed that women were using their old Nokia phones as a substitute for hard-to-find sex toys for masturbation.

Yes, you read that right! However, considering the pace at which we're progressing, it probably was time for an upgrade or so Krista McHarden thought.

What Next? She Decided to Put The Very Popular--Apple's iPhone to Test

"When I heard about vibrator apps, I was like 'OMG I can finally leave my husband.' JK/JK, my husband is wonderful and very good at sex so I think I'll keep him, but doesn't every girl desire a little one-on-one time with herself and her favorite portable electronic? I think yes," she wrote in Marie Claire.

Then, she tried out the apps like Perfect Mobile Massager For Your Beauty And Health (PMMFYBAH), iVibe Vibrating Massager, and iMassage U-Vibrating Massager.

Let's Pause and Evaluate How Safe This "Experiment" Is

Pinch yourselves, peeps, because she actually risked the almost-50K-wonder and well-her gynecological health too in order to try out this adventure.

You know how you just randomly keep your phone anywhere and touch it without even washing your hands most of the times? Now, imagine what can happen if those germs actually enter your body or simply decide to reside in your lady bits!

Infection…infection…and infection! That's what it can lead to.

To counter that, Krista recommends using a body safe-silicone sleeve and maybe some sex toy cleaner to be extra sure. But we literally struggle to find sex toys in our sex-shy country. Where then do we find "sex-toy cleaners" from?

Even if you manage to take care of the hygiene bit, it's difficult to ignore the harmful radiation bit, girls.

According to Dr Loveleena Nadir, gynaecologist, Fortis La Femme, Delhi, the issue of radiation shouldn't be ignored. "Although there hasn't been a single study regarding the effects of radiation if a phone is used a sex toy, I still wouldn't recommend anyone to use it that way. It's better to be safe anyway, especially when it comes to your vagina," she said.

Dr Bandana Sodhi, gynaecologist, Moolchand Medcity, Delhi added, "This has to be the most obnoxious thing I have ever heard. I cannot imagine using a phone as a sex toy at all."

And Finally, Was The Experiment Worth It?

While some of the apps "felt fine", Kris still thinks that these apps need to be worked upon.

"Meh. I mean, putting a buzzing feeling near That Which Is Most Sacred will always feel kinda good, but in their current iteration, the vibe apps just aren't strong enough to deliver peak sexual satisfaction," she wrote.

However, she mentions that these apps might work for women with a sensitive clitoris.

Ladies, we've told you all about the risks involved and Kris has shared her experience too. Now, we leave it up to you to decide whether to try this out or not.
