Is the mother forgotten as a woman after she has a child?

The moment a woman enters motherhood, she becomes the center of constant scrutiny. Her skills as a mother are always questioned. Everybody has something to say about how she needs to bring up her child. She is expected to forget herself completely for her child. Her body is treated as a producer of baby food. All of this, when the new mother is not even completely aware of what post-partum life holds for her. This world breastfeeding week, we have four women share their experience with breastfeeding. The women talk about how it was a learning curve for them and also a reminder of some guilt ridden memories.
