So, how many of you have watched Akshay Kumar-starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha? Okay, let's assume you have. And we bet you were left impressed with the storyline, which was based on a true story by the way. Akshay in the film struggled to get a toilet constructed inside his home. However, it's important to note that this is not the only film made on the struggles of women who have to go out in fields to do their business. If you haven't heard of a Kannada film titled Sandaas before, then it's time we enlighten you with some interesting facts.

The film is based on real life of Mallamma, a 15-year-old girl from Danapura, who fights with her family to get a toilet built inside her house. In order to convince them, she also goes on a 3-day-fast. 14-year-old theatre artist Prathyaksha will play the lead role in the film. Now, the reason why we are telling you about the movie is not just because it has some great content, but also because the female lead Prathyaksha has done something amazing.

(This is Mallamma getting applauded for her efforts)

You see, Prathyaksha's life is not very different from the character that she is playing on-screen. The young girl will be paid Rs one lakh for her role, but this little crusader will not use a penny from the amount on herself. Instead, she wants to give away all her money to get more toilets built in Mallamma's native village.

"I'm not just inspired by Mallamma's efforts but am determined to do something concrete for the cause. I'll dedicate my fee to build toilets in Mallamma's village," said Prathyaksha in an interview to the Times of India.

Interestingly, Prathyaksha's effort has made it possible for the village to build 100 toilets in the area. Moreover, her efforts have been noticed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi too. He even mentioned her in one of his broadcasts of Mann Ki Baat.

Well, kudos to her!
