Planning that colleague's murder in your head out of boredom is surely one.

It's funny how the first day of your first job is all about stepping into your first workplace--at least 20 minutes prior to the designated time, clad in your best formal-finery, with hopes and dreams of conquering the world and making it big in life.

However, 365 days and a few experiences later (or even lesser if your boss is too much of a monster), it takes a million alarms, several mental battles, Milkha-Singh-level motivation, and well, desperate need for money to barely make it to office--on time or not, is a different issue altogether.

If this sounds like your current state, maybe it is time to move on from your first job. Here, tally the signs before making the final call.

1. Your Day Starts With Fetching Coffee For Your Boss

If it's your first job, then in all probability, you're the junior-most in your team. Well, that comes with hell lot of responsibility, you see. This could include creatively satisfying and extremely productive tasks, such as bringing your boss coffee every day (big deal! get her different flavours if you're bored); running up and down the stairs to deliver packages; and well, being the go-to person for taking print-outs and photocopies for the entire team.

It's time to add one more task to this list--handing over your resignation letter, because you know what? You're done proving your versatility in an open-hierarchic-workplace by being personal assistant-cum-courier girl-cum helper.

2. The Don't-Like-Me-Then-Fire-Me Feeling

It's the stage you reach when being broke seems more comforting than going to office. You become immune to the unnecessary scolding. Basically you give up all moh-maaya, and hence your devil-may-care attitude comes into picture. It drives you to the point where you just want to smile at your boss while he or she is yelling at you for not being up to the mark, give a jaadu ki jhappi, and say "Get well soon, maamu" before you walk away.

3. The Spark's Gone

No this isn't a boyfriend-girlfriend thing. You can suddenly stop feeling for your job too, simply because it no longer excites you. It is no longer something you look forward to and you simply start loathing every goddam thing about it, even if it means just sitting and breathing at your desk. Call it quits if you're that frustrated. Plus, not having a single cute guy around to keep you interested should be a sure-shot sign you're looking to leave. Just saying.

4. Even the 14-Year-Olds Are Getting Promoted

Now that' not even a legal age to work at, but you get the point, right? Basically, there's no scope for you to grow in the organization. You've hit stagnation and everything from your salary to your post to the nature of your work remains the same. You won't learn anything new or grow in such an environment.

5. You Contemplate Your Colleagues' Murder in Your Head

But going to jail is the only thing that's stopping you. Because you know what? They're that annoying, and there's only a point up to which you can pretend and respond to office politics, and well, their stupidity with a super-fake smile.
