Girls, just think of your metro/bus/local-train travel scenes once--especially during the rush hours--that too in those general compartments or overcrowded stations.

As unfortunate as this sounds, but aren't those hectic public-transport rides usually incomplete without a man or two rubbing past you or touching you "accidentally" because of the overflowing crowd?

What is even more unfortunate is the fact that usually, we too don't raise our voices against these perverts or simply pass their doings off as unintentional mistakes citing the same reason they use to touch us inappropriately--the crowd, that is.

However, the case with Vaidahi Vishal More, a Mumbai-based woman was quite different. Having spotted the same man groping two different women while travelling from Bhayander West to East, she decided to raise her voice and get the man punished despite the fact that she wasn't even the victim of his perversion.

Just like us, even Vaidahi first thought that it was unintentional. But then after seeing him touch another woman inappropriately, she approached the second girl, disclosed the truth to her, and then convinced her to accompany her in order to file a complaint against the man.

According to a report in DNA, first, the Railway authorities turned them down and asked them to approach the Bhayander police for help. And when the girls did just that, it was the constable, who was sent with them to track down the man, who turned out to be a disappointing, irresponsible civil servant as he refused to follow the culprit who was trying to escape saying, "hume aur koi kaam nahi hai kya?"

The constable refused to budge despite repeated requests from the ladies, who were worried that the culprit might try to harm them.

What next? Well, giving up wasn't an option for Vaidahi, who took to Facebook and posted a video narrating the incident to spread awareness about the harassment in public transport and the carelessness of the authorities.

In the video, she says,

"Hi friends, I have something to share with you. I was traveling from Bhayandar West to Bhayandar East. I saw a man groping a girl. From then on, I kept an eye on the man to ascertain whether he touched the girl on purpose or if it was a mistake. Moments later, I saw the same man groping another girl. I went to this girl and asked her to lodge a complaint against the man. The girl first declined, presuming the touch to be a mistake. But when I told her that the same man had groped another girl moments before he touched her, she realized, she was groped.

Now the girl agreed to lodge a complaint. I asked two bystanders (men) to get hold of the man. But they didn't move and asked me to approach police near Bhayander East station. At the police station, I was asked to approach Railway police instead. I asked the police to arrest the man till I lodge a complaint with railway police or the man escapes. A policeman accompanied me. When we came back, we saw the man crossing the rails (he had a grey shirt on him). The policeman did not follow the man and said he'll go back to the police station and register a complaint against the man. I accompanied the police man. When we reached, I was told that the police had a lot on their plate and no time to spare for pursuing our request.

The girl and I were afraid that if we go after the man alone, harm might come our way. So we asked them once again to catch the man before a proper complaint was lodged, but to no avail. I ask you, isn't it the job of police to arrest such people? A girl was groped in public. She could be the policeman's daughter too. When the incident happened, there was no emergency at Bhayander East, yet we were declined help. I kept my work aside to approach police for someone else's help. What I got in return was zero cooperation from the shameless police department.

I can't do anything about it, but I have this to say: The next time I see a girl being groped like this, I might chop the man's hand off. I don't want the police bothering me then. This incident happened at 11.15 am. If you are watching this video, find out who was on duty at the police station near Bhayander East station between 11.15 am and 11.30 am. I want you to ask the policemen  the reason for not helping me.

Letting a robber get away can be tolerated still. But groping women is a serious crime. Our country is losing respect because of such incidents. I urge authorities to take action against the policemen. Share this video as much as you can.

My name is Vaidehi Vishal More and I live near Bhayander west police station. Feel free to approach me. I am not afraid of anyone. I warn the police again. If they keep refusing help in such incidents, I am going to take the law in my own hands. Do not come to arrest me then. Because then, I won't be able to show up at work. I have many problems of my own. I want the police to tell me loud and clear, do they want to work properly or want me to work on their behalf?"

I have no problem in doing that either. I urge you to be alert at public places like stations so that such incidents don't take place or go unreported. Share this video as much as u can."

We say, it was quite responsible of her to report the incident instead of letting it go. Not to mention, spreading awareness on the matter was a necessary eye-opener too. So, apart from a need for serious and responsible police men, we also need bold, brave women like her. What do you say?
