Considering what we've seen in the movies or television and what we've been told by our mothers, most of us dread the excruciating pain of giving birth to a child more than the world collectively dreads the apocalypse.

However, this doctor believes in making the experience of bringing a new life into the world a memorable one in the most hilarious way.

Meet Dr Fernando Guedes da Cunha, aka' the dancing doctor', who dances with heavily pregnant women to make their delivery easier.

Check out his cool videos here if you don't believe us:

If you think that's just a crazy gimmick to make labour sound like fun, you're highly mistaken.

Several experts and researchers have stated that movement or physical activity during labour can make it easier.

"Dance, walk, activities with a ball of physiotherapy and squats, are part of the patient's verticalization, which greatly favors labour. We are increasingly trying to implement human measures to improve assistance to pregnant women," Dr Cunha told MailOnline.

In fact, according to a study published in The New England Journal of Medicine, walking and moving around can even shorten the labour duration.

Another study published in a 2003 issue of Nursing Research found that women in labour experienced worse back pain when they were lying down.

This finding was only solidified further by a more recently-carried-out study published in The BMJ in 2017. It stated that first-time mothers, who lied down after receiving an epidural, a pain-relieving shot, had a slightly shorter delivery than those who didn't.

Now, that coupled with the videos posted by the doctor should be enough of a proof for you to believe it and maybe just dance through your labour when you're expecting. What say?
