Researchers at University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, suggest that there's a real, scientifically verifiable link between caffeine and more effective workouts. They have found that 400mg or four cups of caffeine can help muscles burn body fat more easily.
According to the Daily Mail, the study found that 400mg of caffeine pills helped athletes run, swim or bike a little bit faster when taken right before a workout. The study participants took the energy booster an hour before the workout and performed 3.3% better than when they took nothing. It was found that they burned more calories while exercising, which eventually lead to more weight loss.

While weight loss seems a good excuse to start drinking coffee, you should also be careful about the amount of coffee you should drink. After all, heavy consumption of coffee can lead to serious health issues, including heart problems and cholesterol. But, the good news is the amount of coffee you need for weight loss--that is 400 mg or 4 cups--is way less than the recommended limit of over 500 mg or 5 cups.
So ladies, maybe it's time to skip that healthy cup of green tea and chug coffee instead.
