There is no denying the fact we women try all sorts of diets and workout regimes in order to get into shape and achieve the body of our dreams.

But our weight-loss goals remain unrealized since we give in to the temptation of high-calorie foods and tend to lose motivation to eat clean and exercise.

If you too see yourself losing your will-power time and again , having a handsome hunk in life can help. We are not kidding, ladies.

According to a study published in the journal Body Image, women are motivated more strongly to diet and be stay in shape if their husbands or partners are more attractive than them. Unfortunately, the converse isn't true for men, whose motivation levels remain unaffected by the attractiveness of the women in their lives.

While this sounds like a funny weight-loss motivation, it has a serious underlying issue that could be impact women negatively. "The results reveal that having a physically attractive husband may have negative consequences for wives, especially if those wives are not particularly attractive," said Tania Reynolds, doctoral student at the Florida State University.

And this has got to do with body-image issues and several insecurities that so many women across the world face. "It might be helpful to identify women at risk of developing more extreme weight-loss behaviours, which have been linked to other forms of psychological distress such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse and dissatisfaction with life," Reynolds said.

Ladies, jokes apart, don't go overboard with your weight-loss goals and love yourself for what you are, because you are amazing. Not to mention, strike a balance and use your partner's look as a motivation--not as a means of self-destruction, we say.
