Here's why women should not watch porn. And it's got nothing to do with sexism

A lot has been said about the horrors of porn addiction when it comes to men. However, women too should refrain from watching online pornography for their own good. Yup, it's got nothing to do with sexism or the desire to curb their sexuality. Turns out, watching porn can negatively impact the sexual health of women too.

According to a report published in the Metro, a new study from the University of New Brunswick takes a look at the impact of porn on both men and women, beyond the assumption that it's only men who like watching sex on their screens.

"Researchers surveyed more than 1,000 adults, two thirds of which were women, and found that watching porn is having a worrying effect on women, too. The research suggests that women are feeling let down by real-life sex, as sex in porn is shown to last longer than average, provide more easily achieved orgasms, and feature larger than average penises," states the report.

"Women are also experiencing forms of sexual insecurity, and body image related insecurity, as a result of porn-watching. When the vulvae shown on screen are so often smooth and bare, it's no wonder that women who watch porn tend to feel a little less confident when they look down and see their own visible labia," it continues.

Well, who would have thought of that? OTT sexual fulfillment, taunt bodies, and unrealistic expectations not only lead to disappointment when it comes to their own sex lives but it also leads to body image issues. Women end up comparing their bodies and sex life with make-believe characters they see on screen and it's unhealthy.

So, if you enjoy watching porn more than having sex in real life then it's time you seek intervention.
