Gone are the days when people used to write love sonnets for their girlfriends or boyfriends. It's the era of smartphones and instant messages now. And you know what comes with instant messages? Emojis! That's right. Yes, we are talking about all those hearts that you send to your friends and partner without even thinking once. So on World Emoji Day, let us tell you the truth about using emojis.

If you have a smartphone, you probably use emojis when you are messaging someone. Hell, some people even use them while sending mails. But have you ever wondered if emojis actually help your case when you are talking to your lover?

Well, to tell you the truth, it actually ruins your relationship. Wonder why? Emojis are completely impersonal and no matter how much love you have in your heart--when you press that button, it all gets digitize.

Still confused? Here is how emojis are completely ruining modern day relationships:

Didn't Send A Hug Emoji With Your Good Morning Text? Be Ready To Face Your Lover's Wrath
Guys we all know how important sending a good morning message to your partner is. After all, that's the first message they will see when they wake up and the gesture is actually very sweet. But what happens when you forget to include an emoji with that text?

I will tell you what happens: you girlfriend gets angry. Before you tell me that your girlfriend doesn't focus on this tiny detail, let me tell you that you are wrong. When you always use a hug emoji with your text (or any emoji for that matter), your partner is used to seeing it and they perceive it as a norm. And if you ever forget to use that emoji, for whatever reason, it can be perceived as a change in your behaviour.

So if you forgot to send your partner a kiss emoji with "mele babu ne khana khaya?," be prepared to answer some tough questions. Still don't believe me? Go ahead, I dare you to give it a shot.

Your Heart Emoji Can't Really Convey What's Really In Your Heart
Remember these lines by Shakespeare: "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate"? Don't lines like these just ooze love and affection? After all, what is more important than telling your partner that you have penned a poem on how they look. *sigh*

Now, try communicating the same with the help of emojis. Little difficult, right? Sending heart emoji may help you save time but it definitely can't express exactly what you feel to the one you love so dearly. After all saying "I love you" trumps sending a thousand hearts.

Communicating With Emojis? More Like Miscommunication

You can't deny the fact that a lot of problems in a relationship are caused due to miscommunication. After all, two different people will have two different ways of understanding a language. And it only gets trickier when you use emoji. No one fully understands or knows the exact meaning these emojis wish to convey.

Take the straight face emoji for example. How do you understand if it represents indifference, irritation, or even mockery? It can get highly confusing, especially if you are trying to have a serious conversation with your partner.

And let's not forget that you waste a lot of time thinking about what emoji to use where. So, the next time you are just sending a bunch of emojis, just remember that it can get you into a lot of trouble.
