Are you under too much pressure because of Valentine's Day? Are you tired of gifting your significant other boring flowers every year? Try gifting a personalized potato this year instead. No, we kid you not, you can actually do that!

A Delhi-based entrepreneur has set out on a really quirky journey to send potatoes with personalized messages to anyone in India. Yes, you heard it right! You can send anyone a sweet message on a vegetable that often ends up on your plate as fries.

Piyush Goyal, who started the website Surprise Potato, spoke to Buzzfeed about how he came up with this unique idea. He said: "This one time, I was talking to someone over the phone in the kitchen and wanted to note down a number. Luckily, I had a marker in my pocket and a potato on the shelf. When I had to pass on the number, I just threw the potato across the room."

Goyal even went on to explain how he chooses which potato gets selected as the messenger. "They need to be big enough to write on them."

You thought only you had tests to pass? Even potatoes have to go through it. But, you only think about yourself. "Post selection, they need to be washed and dried with a hair dryer for a permanent marker to do its jazz," he explained.

The website allows you to write your message under 130 characters, and even gives an option of uploading a selfie to make that message more personalized. The photo will be added on to the potato and send to the designated person! It's that simple!

The website, which also has an Instagram account, has kept their prices pretty low, with the starting amount at just Rs 129. The business has already picked up for Goyal and he even shared that some of the messages he received were pretty intense and funny.

"The weirdest we got definitely has to be, 'Kiss me hard and peel me with your bare hands' and another funny one was, 'I will mash this potato into you, if you don't return my calls'," Goyal quipped.

The entrepreneur thinks that potatoes are a best way to send a message because there's something awkwardly hysterical about a potato that you just can't explain. He said: "It's so random and abrupt in its shape that internet loves it and so do we."

So forget about greeting cards, love letters, and everything else all those rom-coms have taught us for years. Opt for a potato. Because if it can taste good as fries, it can very well convey your true feelings to your bae!
