Like having sex? Then you're going to love this research
Turns out, women who have sex regularly have a better memory.
Just type in words 'health benefits of sex' on Google and you will be bombarded with lists after lists. Right from a stronger immune system to keeping cold at bay, sex at times, seems more like medical assistance than just an activity for pleasure.
The latest benefit to join the lot is good memory, especially in young women. According to a study published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, frequent sex sessions will help you achieve something other than the big O. Intrigued? Well, some hot action between the sheets will have a positive effect on your brain, helping you to remember abstract words better. "The relationship between frequency of sexual intercourse and abstract word sensitivity is indeed associated with a hippocampus-dependent memory function", says the study.

"Those single women who self-reported a high frequency of sex demonstrated higher memory scores than those coupled women who self-reported either not having sex or having a low frequency of sex. This suggests that it is penile-vaginal intercourse (PVI), and not the presence of a relationship, that accounts for the beneficial effects found in this study", further says the study.
Now, there can be a lot of reasons responsible for it. But, the most obvious one is: sex is a form of exercise. And many studies in the past have pointed out that it enhances cognition, courtesy the physical activity. Another reason can be that sex helps in keeping depression and stress at bay, which usually impede better memory. Not that you need another reason to hop in bed with your bae, but in case you do--do it for the sake of your memory!
