For most women, sex hurts when they do it for the first time. But, the pain lessens over time and they eventually begin to enjoy it. However, there are a few who don't find sex pleasurable at all mostly due to immense pain they experience while having intercourse--even after popping their cheery. In fact, according to a study published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, nearly one in 10 women finds sex painful.

If you too refrain from having sex because of the pain, then you must try to find out why. You see, there are certain reasons why you can't enjoy yourself in the sack. Here are a few:

You Are Not Aroused Enough
One of the reasons why sex hurts so much is because your body is not ready for penetration. If you are not sexually aroused, sex is bound to hurt. So, you need to pay attention to the details. For instance, you may not be indulging in foreplay as much as you should. Yes ladies, if you are in a hurry to get over with it then you are skipping an integral part of lovemaking. You need to find out what arouses you the most and then do it. It can be watching porn with your partner or just caressing each other. Whatever it is--give it some time to work its magic.

You Are Stressed While Having Sex
Imagine this: you have come back from work and you've had a shitty day. Your partner is in the mood so you relent. You're your mind is focused elsewhere and that makes you a little uninterested in it. If that is the case then don't be surprised if you end up squirming with pain. It's of utmost importance that you relax before making passionate love. If nothing else helps--try to mediate. Yoga can help a great deal in calming down your jittery nerves.

You Have Vaginal Dryness
Vaginal dryness is a common problem and nothing to be ashamed of. You see, some women despite getting aroused, don't get wet enough to enjoy easy and pleasurable penetration--mainly due to lack of vaginal secretion. But, this most definitely doesn't mean that such women should abstain from it. What they can do, instead, is opt for more artificial methods to make their steamy sex sessions more enjoyable. And by that we mean use lubricants to make things easier. There are a plethora of products available in the market that will make sex easier for you.

You Suffer From Endometriosis
The inner most lining of your uterus is called the endometrium. It is the same lining that is shed every month during your periods. But, when tissue that forms the lining of your uterus grows outside of your uterine cavity, you end up with a disorder called endometriosis . This makes sex unbearably painful. So, if you are suffering from it, you may need to undergo laparoscopic surgery to treat the condition.

Genital Infections Can Lead To Painful Sex
According to a report published in Prevention magazine, a number of genital infections--most commonly, genital herpes, trichomoniasis, and yeast infections--can make sex uncomfortable. "Most genital infections are easily controlled or curable, and the tests are simple. If you're experiencing pain, the most important thing is to visit a doctor and not live with it," states the report.

Once you get proper medical care, sex won't look like a tragedy anymore.
