The new Doctor Who is a woman and men just can't stop whining over it
Because men can't digest the fact that Doctor Who doesn't need to be a man all the time.
Doctor Who has been a part of the British popular culture for decades, and over the years it has gained a cult following. In fact, Indians just love to dress up as TARDIS (the Doctor's time-travelling space ship) at Comic Cons and it's quite entertaining. Up until now, 12 Doctors have essayed the role of Doctor Who--all men--but BBC recently revealed that the next Doctor Who will be a woman! Sounds like an amazing news, right? However, some men on the Internet clearly didn't think so.
BBC recently tweeted a teaser of the show introducing Jodie Whittaker as the 13th Doctor Who. The short clip shows the actress walking through a forest, while slowly taking off her hood to reveal who she is. The video also shows the TARDIS (which is basically a blue phone-booth).
But, you know how some men want everything to be about them--even a sci-fi show that features a Time Lord, who can not only teleport himself, but also change appearances.Meet the Thirteenth Doctor #DoctorWho #Doctor13 pic.twitter.com/txHGz9tJEe

Spot on mate, I was not either. The Doctor is a man, it just works. I don't feel the need to mess around with it

Imagine one of your favourite shows but with someone of the opposite gender playing your favourite character(s). Hell.

Honestly, we were quite amused after reading these tweets. We mean there's a limit to which men can crib over silly things. Who can forget the social media outcry by men in USA over a women-only screening of Wonder Women? No matter how much we roll our eyes, some men just refuse to grow up.Can't actually think of anything worse. End of Doctor Who for me after 43 years.

But, the obvious point that these men have missed out on is that it's a fictional story and the character is actually an extra-terrestrial being! How difficult is it for an alien to shape shift, or in this case gender swap? Not that difficult. And how about for once these men actually think of the impact it would have on young girls? But some men--well, they only think about themselves.
But who cares? We are stoked about Whittaker and can't wait to watch the new season already!
