The Lallantop Show at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow saw politicians, comedians, and singers get real candid. And it was fun. So, when Laila O Laila fame Pawni Pandey and newbie Rachita Arora took the stage, the audience got a proper dose of some lallantop masti. For the uninitiated, Rachita has composed the song Chal Tu Apna Kaam Kar in the movie Newton. Both Pawni and Rachita had many interesting tales to share. Intrigued? Well, here they are:

Pawni Pandey

After singing hit songs like Laila, Sahiba, Sweety Tera Drama, and many more--the singer has made quite a name for herself. When asked about her journey, she revealed that music has always been her life.

"I used to participate in singing competitions even when I was a kid. Nursery se competitions mein part le rahi hu. Jab bolna nahi aata tha tab se gunguna rahi hu. I remember, the first raag I learnt was yaman raag," she said.

On Reality Shows

If you are a fan of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs, then you would remember little Pawni as a finalist on the show. Since she knows what a young contestant goes through, the singer has a very important message for all parents.

"My tryst with reality shows has been good. But, it was majorly because my family was there to guide me. Kids these days don't get that kind of guidance. Parents need to teach their children that the glitz and glamour is not permanent. You might be a star now, but some other child will take your place some day. So, it's best to take the show, winning, losing, and glamour sportingly. My parents taught me that and it really helped," she continued.

About her dreams in Bollywood, Pawni said that she always wanted to sing for Madhuri Dixit and Rekha. Fortunately, she got the opportunity to sing for Madhuri in Gulaab Gang.

When asked to name one singer, whose songs she wishes she had sung, Pawni said, "Lata Mangeshkar." She then went ahead and sang Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho in her super melodious voice.

Rachita Arora On Her Journey

For Rachita, Mumbai was like a dream come true. It was there, where she met Makrand Deshpande at Prithvi Theatre. After she impressed him with her composition, he introduced her to Anurag Kashyap.

On Her Meeting With Anurag Kashyap

"I was so nervous while meeting him. I was sitting in his car and he asked me to sing my composition. After I did, I saw tears in his eyes. He really liked it. He later introduced me to Amit Trivedi. Honestly, it was chaotic. But, later he contacted me and asked me compose music for Newton. It was really great," she said.

FYI, Rachita has worked on the background score of Shubh Mangal Savdhan. She concluded the session by singing Chal Tu Apna Kaam Kar, and how!
