Rape. This four-letter-word is capable of sending shivers down the spine of every woman. It's a heinous crime, yet many people around the world have a hard time grappling with the devastating effects it has on the victim. Furthermore, they indulge in victim-blaming, and that's equally shameful.

What is it about rape that is so difficult to understand? Seriously, how difficult is it to pay heed to these two simple alphabets--NO. Believe it or not, but it's a complete sentence in itself. And yet, some thick-minded perverts refuse to acknowledge it.

Thus, to make such duds understand what rape really means, a woman by the user name of clvrarose took to Twitter to explain the word clearly in a series of 11 tweets. Needless to say, they hit the right chords and make you cringe.

"If a penis is being forced into a woman's vagina, it will hurt therefore the body will start to self lubricate because that's what it does," she writes.

"It's not a conscious thing, it's literally the body's reaction: it doesn't mean the woman is enjoying it," she continues.
There, you have it. Some men assume that women enjoy sexual assault because they are secretly asking for it. Well, that is definitely not the case. No woman harbours the desire to get sexually assaulted and get treated like an object. It's a misconception that really needs to get cleared.

The user further deciphers what happens to the victim while the attack is taking place. "Even if it physically "feels good", even if she has an orgasm, it doesn't mean she wanted it or enjoyed it," writes the user.

"The body reacts, like that's what it does…it's not hard to understand," she continues.
In case, you are left perplexed by this new dose of information, clvrarose further tries to dispel the confusion.

"Same way that those who are ticklish may not like being tickled or the sensation but they still laugh when ticked," she explains.

The Twitter user further goes onto to put everything into perspective through a trail of tweets.

Now, that you know how horrific and unsettling rape actually feels like, let the message hit home that sexual assault is never a woman's fault. And yes, no one, no matter how they are dressed, is asking for it.
