Every time you get barraged with sexist remarks from your male colleagues, don't you wish you lived in a country that was more sensitive towards women? A place where you could walk the streets without being catcalled, or thrive at work solely on the basis of your aptitude.

We empathize with you.

It's not easy, fighting every day for the right to live freely. Or the right to wear the clothes of your choice. Or to step out of your home, without fearing the worst.

But, there are places in the world that don't feed you an overload of sexism.

World Economic Forum in its Global Gender Gap Index, listed the least sexist countries in the world. Apart from being champions of gender equality, these countries are also bestowed with gorgeous views.

So, if you're planning a vacation, how about experiencing gender equality along with natural beauty this year?

Iceland
This Nordic country bagged the first spot on the list. Celebrated for its on-point welfare system, liberal views, and social acceptance--Iceland has poster-worthy panoramic views.

Lush hills apt for hiking, bubbling hot springs, and small hamlets that promise fishing experience of a lifetime should be enough to put the country in your bucket list.

Finland

Finland bestows upon its women citizens traditional courtesy and a high degree of equality. The country boasts of giving 263 days of maternity leaves to its women. Not to mention, the concept of shared responsibilities between a man and a woman is engrained deeply in Finnish society.

Just like its Nordic neighbour, Finland too is bestowed with scenic beauty. Also, an amazing cultural experience awaits you there in the form of finest museums, art galleries, and an amazing underground Rock Church.

Norway

In 2013 national elections, women gained 39.6% of the seats in the parliament. Not to mention, Norway's women's labour market participation ranks amongst the highest in Europe.

The country has an amalgamation of cultural and natural wonders. If there's one thing you can't miss in Norway it's the breathtakingly beautiful Northern Lights. So, get your tickets booked soon.

Sweden

Fourth place in the list goes to Sweden. A country that has one of the highest employment rates for women in the world. Seeing that birth control and abortion was legalized in the country in 1938, we can't help but applaud the progressive approach of the country's government.

A traveller's paradise, Sweden is the place to visit if you are a nature lover. Crystal-clear lakes, historic treasures such as Drottningholm Palace, and plenty of opportunities to indulge in winter sports like skiing, snowboarding, and ice fishing are some of the things you will definitely enjoy there.

Denmark

The country has one of the most gender-equal societies in the world. For instance, income equality, safety, and overall contentment in women, makes it rank higher than most of its European neighbours.

A Scandinavian country, Denmark is a must-visit tourist spot for all beach lovers. And how can you not crush on the picturesque Nyhavn harbor in Copenhagen. Picture yourself sipping on a cup of hot cocoa at one of the cozy cafes along the harbor. Divine, no?
