Being a woman is not easy. Starting from those monthly parlour visits to shopping, everything is costly enough to burn a hole in your pocket. And don't even get us started on the monthly expense that goes into buying sanitary products. It doesn't matter if you use sanitary napkins or tampons, everything is quite expensive.

While women in the urban areas have no qualms about spending money during those few days of the month, it's the women in the women in rural areas who have it tough.

Due to affordability of products and lack of awareness about menstrual hygiene, women in rural parts of the country end up using cloth, and at times, even dried leaves during their period.

Can you even imagine a world where you don't have a Whisper or a Stayfree at your disposal during those days of the month?

In a bid to focus on how sanitary pads are definitely not a matter of luxury, but is a necessity, Girliyapa has shared a new video. The video opens with a girl in an office going up to her lady friends and asking for a sanitary napkin.

The girl instead of getting what she needs, ends up receiving dried leaves, tissue papers, and a cloth. The video talks about how nearly 80% of women in India do not use sanitary napkins because they can't afford it. You know what's the shocking part? About 19% of women do not even know these products actually exist.
