Meet Pakistan's new female comic superhero who fights against social evil

Are you a comic book fan? Well, we have some great news for you! There's a new female comic superhero in town and she's kicking some serious a*s. But there's a catch--the female superhero is in Pakistan. That's right, comic lovers. Our neighbor country has a new superhero--Pakistan Girl--who has vowed to battle venal officials and protect battered women.

According to The Times of India, the comic series is based on Sarah, a regular teenager with a pet cat, who discovers she has superhuman powers after waking from a coma caused by a blast in her village. The superhero dons a green cape, Pakistan's national colour, and whips men who beat women. And she even saves a young girl taken hostage by a bribe-seeking police officer. Yep, she's pretty badass.

In an interview to AFP, Hassan Siddiqui, the creator of the English-language comic, says he hopes the superhero will give young girls across Pakistan a role model and embolden them to fight corruption and violence in a country where crime is rife in major cities and corruption is the norm.

"There's a huge shortage of female role models and superheroes in the mainstream media here. We wanted to create a strong female character for the girls in Pakistan and even the young boys in Pakistan that they can look up to," he said.

The author said he now plans to work on an Urdu version of the comic with the aim of reaching millions of readers across the country. He is also mulling a possible animation adaption. We don't know about you, but we are pretty excited about this new desi comic hero and are hoping that India gets a similar one. It will be new addition to the likes of Devi and Maya. If only we could get our hands on Pakistan Girl!
