Who doesn't love an iPhone? Those who have one, can't stop raving about it and those who don't, definitely have buying one at the top of their bucket lists. Even those who hate it, eventually fall in love with Apple's pocket-burning creation post some initial hesitation of course. So, it only makes sense to say that the iPhone has earned a cult status in the tech world and well--in the materialistic world of 'flaunting thy wealth'.

But as they say, great things come with great responsibility and it stands true even for this smart phone.

We're all aware of the exceptional, user-friendly features of the iPhone. After all, that's what we end up shelling out almost 50 grands for, right? However, the same technologically-advanced features are now somehow backfiring, it seems.

According to a report published in New York Post, men are sending pictures of their genitals to unsuspecting women through iPhone's AirDrop function.

The trend that started in London in 2015 has resurfaced in the New York subways where many women have been receiving penis pictures from strangers travelling in the same train.

Talking about her horrific experience where she received an anonymous message titled "Straw", Britta Carlson, a 28-year-old victim of this trend told the NY Post, "It was just a huge close-up picture of a disgusting penis."

"It really felt like someone had actually just flashed me," she added.

If you're already scared of/annoyed with technology, we have a point to make here.

See, the AirDrop function is without a doubt a blessing in disguise as it allows Apple users within a Bluetooth range of around 100 metres to share files with each other with utmost ease. In fact, the app also gives you the option of receiving files from only those who are in your contact list or from everyone or from no one at all just as it gives the sender an option of keeping their identity under wraps.

However, it's not the app settings that need to change, it's the mindset that requires revamping. We mean, why should women always be vulnerable to such creepy things that men do? But till the time change doesn't happen, it's best to take precautionary measures and review your privacy settings, we say. So, be careful, ladies.
