This American writer says it's a duty of all women to stay in shape for their husbands. But it's okay if our husbands have a beer belly right?

Writer Inez Feltscherm really needs to understand that it's not selfish on the part of women to gain weight.

By now, most women are used to all the sexist advice coming their way and have learnt to filter out the BS. However, there are times when it does get too much to handle. So, when USA-based conservative writer Inez Feltscher claimed that 'women should maintain their figures and beauty for the sole purpose of keeping their husbands happy', it irked the female lot--and rightly so.

According to a report published in the Daily Mail, the 'anti-feminist' writer in her essay for The Federalist, wrote that "women's be yourself attitude in marriage is selfish and part of a pack of feminist lies making men and women unhappier. Rather, women should stay fit to honor their husband's masculine desires and added that this is one of the best gifts you can give the man you love."

Okay, let's just take a moment here to let this sink in. Now, while we certainly can't stand male chauvinist politicians, writers, and men in general making such claims; we are equally unamused by this regressive piece of advice from Feltscher.

So, she really wants women to make themselves look attractive just for the sake of their husbands. To come to think of it, it's no shocker. After all, women were put on the face of the Earth just to please men, right? It's no big deal that they crush their own priorities to cater to that of their husbands'. And that includes altering the way they look to make men happy. Also, while we are at it, women can clean their asses too because lifelong servitude is what you get once you are hitched!

However, there still persists a tiny problem. Since the writer wants women to 'stay in shape' to please their husbands, but does she have the same advice for men as well? What about them? Shouldn't they go the extra mile to make their wives happy or is their mere Godly presence just enough?

Turns out, no one really thinks of imparting these pearls of wisdom to men. Come on people, it's really hard to make love to man when he is suffocating you by putting all his weight--half of which is courtesy of that tond--on you. But, no so-called intellectuals go around advising men to shed that extra flab and get in shape for the sake of their wives because the sole duty to keep a partner happy falls on the shoulders of women alone.

Ladies, of course there is nothing wrong in trying to lose weight, stay in shape, and look beautiful. But, you should do all of this for your happiness alone and not because a sexist writer or the society wants you to.

Well, it's sad and unfortunate that in this day and age, women are still treated as second-class citizens and are asked to follow sexist instructions in the name of being a good wife.
