I want average-sized gals as Victoria's Secret Angels. Is it too much to ask?

I am nothing like Gigi Hadid or Kendall Jenner--and proudly so!

I am a full-figured Indian woman with ample assets, absolutely no gap between my thighs, and a fair amount of flesh here and there (which by the way many people would term as 'flab'). Being a social person who happens to work in a women-centric team, I'd like to believe that I know and meet a decent number of women on a daily basis.

But, fortunately or unfortunately, in my 23 years of existence, I have hardly come across any woman with washboard abs--solid as concrete or cellulite-free glutes.

Yes, we're all unique in our own ways, and well body types; but at the end of the day, we're all women who like to dress well. We're all women who like to splurge on sexy lingerie once in a while, not for the men in our lives, but because it makes us feel sexy. That's how it works, at least for me.

So almost instinctively, I turn to Victoria's Secret, which is simply synonymous with sexy lingerie.  Although I am completely spellbound and mesmerized with their stunning collection of stellar pieces, yet I don't have it in me to actually go ahead and buy one. Not for the lack of money, but for the lack of relatability. Just to clear the air here: this is not about belittling a certain body type.

It is just about the fact that when women like Gigi Hadid or a Kendall Jenner gaze coquettishly from billboards and shop windows, posing in that oh-so-sexy lingerie with out-of-bed tousled hair, it just makes me go: "Well that looks great on them, but if I decide to wear the same shit, I am sure I'll look like a complete disaster-especially with bulges oozing out from every nook and corner of my body".

It basically defeats the entire purpose of wanting to invest in those pretty underthings, which is to feel sexy.

I can't help but feel that I am not meant for their fancy designs. But then I tell myself that the fault lies with these brands endorsing unrealistic ideas of beauty--not with me. After all, lingerie is supposed to add to the feel-good factor in a woman's life, and not make her feel inadequate, right?
