Periods are difficult to deal with. Topped with painful menstrual cramps and the discomfort of bleeding down there, they become even more cumbersome. The result? We dread them more than we dread a ghost.

But you know what makes those five most-dreaded days of the month even scarier?  The fact that sometimes, they happen to coincide with our holiday scenes. Unfortunately, this natural process is beyond our control, so it's not like we can delay our period without causing some serious damage to our health.

But stop fretting already, ladies because we've got you covered. Here's how you can enjoy your vacation even if you are on your period:

Comfy Clothing Can Make Your Life Easier
Having said that, it doesn't mean you have to compromise even one bit on your fashion game. It's just wiser to cash in on the fashionable powers of black, brown, and dark blue lowers for those five days because in case you're travelling and don't find the time to change your sanitary napkin, you won't have to worry about a stain that would be quite prominent on a light-coloured lower. Ditching skinny fits for comfy ones will help you a great deal too. Not to mention, carrying an extra pair of shorts in your tote bag will also make you worry a lot less about leaking.

Yes, You Can Flaunt Your Bikinis Too
What's a beach vacay without those pretty bikinis ? If it's the pad that's stopping you from flaunting one, have no second thoughts about replacing it with a tampon. Not only will it let you be a Baywatch babe in a pair of thongs, but you will also be able to go swimming or sea dipping. What more do you want from life?

Don't Forget To Pack Those Often-Ignored Valuables Along
Keeping things like hand sanitizers and feminine hygiene products in your vanity case can seriously help you feel fresh even when the menstrual mess tries to bog you down during fun times. Not to mention, a waterproof underwear can prevent leaking like no other.

Be a Smart Planner
If you've made your bookings already and can't exactly change your dates, then don't forget that the itinerary of your trip is still in your hands. So, how about starting off with the more relaxing activities and keeping the adventurous ones for the last days?

Thankfully, Those Delayed Adventures Don't Have To Involve Sex
Those romantic beaches and sunsets will obviously make you want to get intimate with your partner, but your period doesn't have to play a spoil sport. We all know that having sex on your period is way more pleasurable, so how about finding out if you really like it or not once and for all? Just remember to carry a few old towels that can be spread on the bed and disposed off later if you don't want the hotel peeps to know about your adventurous night.

Be Your Own Doctor
Periods can be uncomfortable and messy. But more importantly, they can also be excruciatingly painful. Hence, even before you pack your clothes and shoes, keep your painkillers in place first. It's obviously wiser to keep them handy in your handbag, but to be on the safer side, keep one in your luggage as well.

And Dietician
We know staying away from junk food on a holiday is a nightmare, but steering clear of it can really ease the pain. So snack on healthy fruits and nuts and keep yourself hydrated--especially when you're on the beach.

All said and done, don't  take your period too seriously and end up spoiling your vacation. Remember that you're out to have fun and that periods are absolutely normal and natural and everyone knows that. Enjoy yourselves, girls!
