As women we go through a lot of shit every day. The catcalls while walking down the street, the nonchalant brushing of hands, and a sexist boss, who just refuses to see us as an equal human being.

We work extra hours in office, give our best to every project, and meet deadlines. Yet, when it comes to appreciation, it's always the male colleague, who hogs the appraisal. Seriously, it's disheartening and a shame.

Sexism at work is something that most of us have faced in various doses.  In its latest ad, a deodorant company called Secret aptly shows what women go through while trying to make it big in a man's world.

It begins with the two ladies stepping into an elevator and mimicking their bosses. "I doubt you girls could pull that off," they say. A line most women have heard their superiors say to them time and again. "Who coded this," they continue, rightfully displaying a blatant lack of trust male bosses have on their female colleagues and juniors.

Have we not proved it over and over again that we are not a lesser mortal in any way. Women these days are winning medals, travelling to space, and heading boardrooms. However, patriarchy has a hard time acknowledging their achievements.

The new 30-second-ad is the latest installment in the deodorant company's 'Stress Test' campaign. Also, the entire campaign centers around various themes of women empowerment.

It's refreshing to see advertisements where women are not being used as a commodity to sell products. Instead, issues such as gender pay gap and sexism are being ridiculed and mocked.

Media does play a significant role when it comes to influencing the perspective of the masses. And ads such as these are doing a brilliant job trying to bring about a change.
