Diwali is a festival of lights. It's a festival of love, warmth, and sharing. And most importantly, it's a festival of gifts. You spend weeks trying to chalk out what to buy for your sasu ma, your devar, your bua, and everyone else--but have you figured out what to gift yourself? That's important too. After all, you spend the entire day cooking delicacies for your family, inviting guests into your home and entertaining them, and fulfilling all your responsibilities. So, don't you think you deserve a little return gift? No, don't worry--you don't need to spend big bucks. Just gift yourself a hobby--something you really like and make time for it.

Here are a few suggestions:

Book a Trip For Yourself

You loved travelling once. But, things have changed now. You have a family to take care of. Chores to attend and tons of other responsibilities. This makes it impossible for you to take out time for yourself. Not to mention, a trip costs money. But, if you have been putting off a well-deserved break, then this is the right time to do something amazing with your near and dear ones.

Huge discounts are available for you to plan a trip. Indigo, SpiceJet, GoAir, Vistara, etc are fighting a discount battle. Earlier, the air fares used to flare up during festivals, but this time things have taken a different turn.

"GoAir is offering tickets as low as Rs 1,073 on select routes-Chennai Hyderabad, Jammu-Leh, Delhi-Chandigarh, Chandigarh-Delhi, Hyderabad-Chennai, Lucknow-Delhi, Kolkata-Pata, Kolkata-Bhubaneswar and Lucknow-Kolkata. The low-cost carrier is offering the discounted fares till October 31, 2017. However, the travel fare can only be availed for travel on discounted 'low fare Wednesday," states a report published in the Indian Express. Moreover, you can also avail discount on hotel bookings.

But, if you are planning on going a little low-key, here's something else:

Download Some Great Music

Nothing soothes your soul like some good music. And more often than not, you find yourself lost in the daily hustle-bustle of life. So, do yourself a favour and download some great music. There are a plethora of websites available on the Internet that can help you find it. Once that's done, take out one hour for yourself every day, plug-in your headphones, and listen to the music of your choice. Just don't forget to keep your phone on airplane mode.

Go On a Book Shopping Spree

If you were a book worm once, then make a promise to yourself--get back to your hobby and make time for books. Find a quiet corner in your home, decorate it with some fairy lights, and throw in some cushions. Once your little nook is ready, find some second-hand book shops in your city. Second-hand because you can buy a lot in less money. Plus it's memorabilia. Every day, go to your little corner and read. This will not only get you back to reading but will also provide you with the much-needed comfort.

Gift Yourself a Jumping Rope

Wait…what? Is this even a gift? Well, turns out it is. And a quite fine one at that.

You don't have the time to go to the gym every day. You don't have equipment at home. Also, you don't have enough area to run or walk near or around your house. So, what do you do to remain healthy? Eat boring, healthy food? Nope. Just buy a jumping rope.

It's a great calorie-burner. But, it's not just about losing weight. "It's certainly good for the heart. It strengthens the upper and lower body and burns a lot of calories in a short time, but other considerations will determine if it's appropriate for an individual," tells Peter Schulman, MD, associate professor, University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, USA, to WebMd.

So, there you go! Have fun this Diwali and buy some simple yet amazing fits for yourself.
