Sadly, it's always the exterior that attracts attention.

For centuries, women have been judged for their skills in the kitchen and the complexion of their skin. However, in the last few decades, another parameter has cropped up, which assesses women based upon their hotness quotient. Now, that may vary based upon the perspective of the person. But, in most cases, it lingers on the periphery of good looks and superior fashion sense.

Sadly, it's always the exterior that attracts attention. Like seriously, who really gives a damn if you have conceived path-breaking ideas or invented stuff? Well, we do. We bring to you, five women from different walks of life, who have done exceptionally well in their careers. And no, it's not about the big bucks. They are hot because of what they do.

Sofia Ashraf
If you have grown up listening to Lil Wayne and Eminem rap to some snazzy tunes then maybe you should consider giving our desi rapper a chance. Sofia Ashraf, is a Tamil rapper and singer, who recently released her album Dow vs. Bhopal: a Toxic Rap Battle. Unique as its name, the album disses The Dow Chemical Company, which was responsible for the deaths of over three thousand people in Bhopal. Now, imagine creating a track about that! You really would need some serious talent.

Prior to her singing career, 29-year-old Ashraf was working as a creative supervisor for Ogilvy & Mather. Despite being brought up in an orthodox Muslim family in Chennai, she continued pursuing her dream. Ashraf first rapped on stage at a college festival, where she donned a Hijab and questioned people's attitude towards Muslims after 9/11 attacks.

Kaneez Surka

You have been entertained for years by ace comedians like Johnny Lever and Jaspal Bhatti. But, to be honest, female comedians didn't really make a mark until Bharti Singh bowled the people over with her hilarious stand-up jokes, which were mostly jibes at her own plus size frame. However, over the last few years, women too have made their presence felt in the world of comedy, and Kaneez Surka is a shining example of that. She is the part of a group called The Improvisers, who does improvisational comedy. If you have ever seen an episode of The Week That Wasn't , you might have come across her quirky talent. In an industry, where women don't really excel, and even when they do, it's mostly for taking sexist jokes in their stride, Surka makes a refreshing change.
