Delivering a tight slap in the face of homophobia, Delhi Queer Pride Parade, which saw hundreds marching from Barakhamba Road to Tolstoy Marg, celebrated the spirit of LGBTQ community this weekend past.

While thousands attended the parade to show their solidarity towards the community, many made it a point to criticize BJP and its staunch perspective, which openly opposes homosexuality. In fact, many went on to hold placards with PM Modi's face and words 'I Love Amit Shah' etched on it!

Also, taking a jibe at BJP's so-called acche din, people wanted the government to know that their promised acche din are a far cry. And the only way to get to them is by abolishing article 377, which criminalizes same-sex relationships.

In fact, no one really seemed bothered by the article 377 at the parade. A life without fear was the theme this year, and people lived up to it. So, suck it up authorities--because you can't intimidate them.

And no, God does not hate gays, lesbians, or transgenders. It is not the boss up there, who has dictated hatred and segregation. That's happening down here. So, please people--don't quote God, because he/she does not agree with you!

Closeted LGBTQ people get a chance to let go of their apprehensions at pride parades every year. Here, you are not judged or reprimanded for your choices and preferences. The Delhi chapter was no different.
