7 fashion lessons we've learnt from celebrities walking at the Lakme Fashion Week this year

This year it was all about breaking stereotypes and striking colours.

  • As the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer/Resort 2017 comes to an end, we look at some of the fashion trends that left us duly impressed.

    This year's fashion gala saw many B-town divas walking the ramp, including Preity Zinta, Tabu, Bipasha Basu, and Kareena Kapoor-Khan. While the minimalistic look was a hit this year, the clothes were both regal and gorgeous.

  • Nothing Shines Brighter Than An Off-White Gown
    If you are planning to wear a floor length off-white gown, team it up with a golden jacket. And guess what? You might just end up looking like Kareena Kapoor Khan.

    The actress looked nothing short of an apsara at the grand finale of Lakme Fashion Week in her long off-white gown, paired with a beautiful long jacket, with embellishments on it. 

    The actress, who walked the ramp for designer Anita Dongre, sported minimal make-up done by international make-up artiste Donald Simrock.

  • Go For Red and Yellow Colour Combination If You Want to Stand Out
    Malaika Arora Khan sported a simple red choli with intricate details on it. She paired it with a yellow layered lehenga from star designer Divya Reddy's Summer/Resort line.

    She compelted her look with a gold-ish choker, light-red lipstick, and a simple red bindi. In a nutsell, she looked sizzling hot--much like fire.

  • You Can Never Go Wrong With A White And Gold Anarkali
    Tabu walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion week 2017 in a white and gold ethnic ensemble created by Gaurang Shah.

    The Fitoor actress looked like an ethereal beauty in a magnificent wide gold bordered anarkali over a flowy lehenga teamed with an ornate gold dupatta.  She opted for minimal make-up, dangling ethnic earrings, and left her tresses open.

  • An Off-Shoulder Blouse Can Be Your Best Bud
    There's nothing more gorgeous than an off-shoulder blouse with a lehenga. The Lunchbox actress Nimrat Kaur looked like a million bucks in her ensemble that was created by Sonam & Paras Modi's label, SVA.

    In a deep red heavily embroidered lehenga and a stunning off shoulder blouse, Nimrat was a simply a vision. She walked down the ramp sans any jewellery, with her hair tied in a loose bun.

  • Go For a Combination Of Black And Silver For That Royal Look
    Are you tired of wearing red, blue and purple, but still want to look regal? Well, try wearing fabrics with an amalgamation of colours such as black and silver. 
    Aditi Rao Hydari, who walked the ramp for designer label Kotwara by Meera and Muzaffar Ali, dazzled the crowd in a glittering black lehenga, with a embellished choli and dupatta. With silver earrings and a maang-tika, the actress finished her minimalistic look with almost no make-up.

  • Bring The Bling Back In Your Wardrobe
    Bling isn't always bad, and Bipasha Basu proved it. The actress, who walked the ramp on day three of Lakme Fashion Week, was dressed by designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock. She wore a gorgeous pastel crystal and sequin encrusted gown with a plunging neckline and floor-length cape sleeves.

    The Alone actress completed her look with her hair tied in a top knot and a deep maroon lipstick.

  • The Colour Combination Of Black And Red Can't Be Ignored
    Preity Zinta walked the ramp for Assam-based designer Sanjukta Dutta's label Mekhela Chador. She was dressed in a black mekhla, beautifully embroidered with red, orange, and yellow threads. The outfit also had gold prints, which we just can't get over.

    The actress looked radiant as she sashayed down the ramp on day two of Lakme Fashion Week.
