Malaysia has declared itself a "duty- free shopping destination", which means it has waived import duties on more than 300 products, so you don't have to wait to go to the airport to shop till you drop! It also helps that the Malaysian Ringgit has a shopper- friendly exchange rate (1MYR =14.80) that suits all pockets and tastes. So where do you go shopping when you're in KL? Here's a list for beginners: Go to Suria KLCC at the base of the Petronas Towers to shop for leading international brands.

Spend the better part of a day at Bukit Bintang, which has 450 retail outlets spread across 1.37 million square feet.
Check out Starhill Gallery and Lot 10 for luxury brands. Pavilion KL, with its street- front duplexes housing flagship boutiques of the world's finest brands, is the other popular destination for upmarket shoppers.

Plaza Low Yatt Shopping Centre is a must- visit for gizmo junkies, especially if you're looking for an iPad. Venture out to Jalan Petaling (or Chinatown) for inexpensive souvenirs and to Central Market for handicrafts. And if your children are with you, go to Berjaya Times Square so that they can spend time at the amusement park while you shop - till you drop.
